I had an enjoyable stay at the hotel, with comfortable rooms and great service, although there were some minor drawbacks. The location was excellent, and the dining experience was satisfactory. Overall, a good value for the money.

Rooms
8.0
The room I booked for the first night had a comfortable king-sized bed and a great bathroom. One unique aspect was its amazing toaster! The only downside was its proximity to the linen cupboard, which was accessed frequently by the staff.
Service
7.0
The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful during my stay. I appreciated the beautiful art displayed around the hotel. However, they were a bit slow, and I had to request housekeeping because they initially missed servicing our room. On the bright side, they provided a free and elegant tea service and a lovely evening with wine, complemented by an art viewing on the ground floor.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was fantastic, being close to the water, within walking distance of the CBD areas, and tourist attractions. I particularly enjoyed its proximity to Te Papa Museum, the waterfront, and Cuba Street shopping. It suited my family perfectly, although being at the back of the hotel meant a slightly greater distance from the water.
Dining
7.0
I had the opportunity to dine at the hotel restaurant, and the meal was included in our room price. The handmade pasta was a standout, although the overall cost was a bit on the expensive side.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offered a variety of services including room service, dry cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, valet parking, welcome drink, pet amenities, and tours/ticket assistance. However, given the focus on art rather than guest comfort, the amenities could be more extensive.

The hotel is centrally located, right opposite the Te Papa museum, and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. While the public areas are beautifully decorated with amazing New Zealand art, some staff interactions upon departure left a negative impression. The breakfast felt overcrowded, leading to slower service, and the rooms appeared outdated and uninspiring with limited adjustability in the TV volume.

The hotel offers fantastic views of the harbor from luxurious rooms and a great location for exploring Wellington. However, the room size is small and lacks windows for fresh air, with some noise disturbances. The lemony room smell was unpleasant, yet the bathroom was spacious and well-equipped.

Rooms

The room was very luxurious with great views of the harbor, but small with no windows for fresh air. The lemony smell was off-putting, and there was noise from street traffic, wind, and rattling.

The staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the restaurant team and sommelier, but there was a small issue a few days into our stay. They were always courteous and attentive.
Location

The hotel's central location in Wellington was excellent for accessing the museum, waterfront, and dining district. However, there were some minor hazards like a painful door stop in the bathroom.
Dining

The dining experience was a mix; the food quality was great once served, but there were delays and a lack of breakfast options. Traditional local cakes were a highlight.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms were generous and comfortable, and I had the best sleep in their beds. The service was top-notch with extremely friendly and efficient staff. The location was perfect for exploring the city, although the strange layout was a bit off-putting. The dining experience was enjoyable with extraordinary food served in the Hippopotamus restaurant. Overall, a great value for money with stylish facilities and amenities.

The hotel was located centrally, directly opposite the terrific Te Papa Museum. While the check-in process was a bit delayed, the location was convenient for our stay in Wellington. The room decorations were lovely, and the engaging staff made our experience enjoyable. However, the street parking situation was a downside that affected our overall impression.

Rooms
7.0
The room was noisy, and we felt it was not especially cheap considering the lack of guests. Despite being told it was on a higher floor during check-out, it didn't seem like an upgrade from our expectations.
Service
9.0
The staff, particularly the restaurant team and sommelier, were very friendly and helpful. They were engaging and could mix a decent cocktail, making our two-night stay with two adults and two young children enjoyable.
Location

The location was very central, albeit disappointed by a delayed check-in. Being across from the Maori Museum added to the appeal, although the street parking situation was a drawback.
Dining

The dining experience, despite having a focus on gourmet food, was limited with tinned baked beans. However, the staff handled the meals exceptionally well, making the experience great.
Facilities
